Job Summary

The Peer Reviewer I supports Study Directors by performing real-time reviews of laboratory data and records in accordance with the relevant study protocols and SOPs.  During studies, data packages are reviewed at a pre-determined frequency that depends on the length and complexity of study. Particular emphasis is placed on verifying calculations and reviewing data for accuracy, completeness, and scientific soundness.  Study-specific data are reviewed against the protocol to ensure that requirements are met.  Review comments are referred back to the Study Director or appropriate designee in a timely manner.  The Peer Reviewer I also conducts a final review of 100% of the information in completed data books or verifies that all data have been 100% reviewed by qualified personnel (including any summary tables) prior to submission to the Reporting and QA groups. Peer review also includes pertinent facility records, such as equipment maintenance and calibration log books, and organism culture logs. Data review forms are completed with each interval reviewed.  These data review forms will contain tracking information such as the package submission date and review completion date.  The forms will also contain a checklist outlining the scope of the review and will be signed and dated upon completion of the review.  Peer review will require the use of appropriate technology when applicable (e.g., Excel and Word) and the ability to read and understand results from specific applications related to data generation (e.g., Analyst, ChemStation, CETIS).
